Ayurveda?
What is it?
How do you even say that??
And how is it even connected to Yoga??? ...
I get asked these questions weekly! And I am grateful for those questions, because then I get to share about one of the oldest medical systems of this world that still trains doctors in India and across the world after 5000 years! This system is called Ayurveda (Ayoor-veda), the science of life. In this healing system Yoga is one of the many healing modalities. So it is no wonder that we feel so uplifted and relaxed in a yoga class.
In my private yoga therapy practice I often share valuable nuggets of wisdom from this ancient science with my clients. If you'd like to hear more about this amazing "science of life" that connects body, mind and spirit, please join me for the following workshop series of 3 Saturday afternoon workshops:
YOGA & AYURVEDA with Nasim Maani, C-IAYT
at Triangle Yoga, 903 Martin Luther King Blvd, Chapel Hill, 3rd floor
SATURDAY OCTOBER 19th, 3-5:30 pm
1. Yoga, Ayurveda and the Doshas - an introduction
In this first workshop we will explore how your yoga practice is connected to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, the world's oldest healing system and finally find an answer about your own individual constitution, dependent on your doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha).
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16th, 3-5:30 pm
2. Ayurveda and the Power of a Daily Routine
In this second workshop we will delve deeper into ways that knowledge of your particular constitution could more skillfully inform your yoga practice, your lifestyle and relaxation needs, as well as allow for healing where it is required in mind, body or spirit.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 7th, 3-5:30 pm
3. Ayurveda and how to sleep better
In this third workshop we explore how following Ayurveda's ancient wisdom could allow for better sleep. We look at Nature's built-in rhythms, called Circadian rhythms, that are closely connected to the energies that govern our lives (Vata, Pitta, Kapha).
